Applied Bioresources and Life Science Innovation

We integrate bioresources, insect functionality, biomaterials, health science, and information technology to develop applied technologies that contribute to sustainability, health, and engineering education.

About the Laboratory

Guillermo Laboratory conducts interdisciplinary research and education across bioresources, insect-derived materials, health science, and information technology. We combine experimentation, material characterization, and data analysis to develop applied technologies for society.

Insect Technology and Bioresources

Insects are among the most diverse biological resources on Earth. Our laboratory studies insect markets, technologies for insect production, and useful products extracted from insects.

Biomass Utilization and Biomaterials

We explore the use of biomass waste as a resource for sustainable material development. Our work includes material preparation, characterization, and data-based evaluation.

Health Science and Medical Data Applications

We approach health as a balance of physical, mental, and social well-being. Our research includes medical data analysis, risk factor exploration, early detection, and remote health support.

Information Technology and Engineering Education

We use programming, information mathematics, networks, data analysis, and AI to support practical engineering education and student-centered research activities.

Guillermo Ignacio Guangorena Zarzosa graduated as a medical doctor from UACJ, Mexico, in 2020 and completed his doctoral studies in the Department of Science of Technology Innovation at Nagaoka University of Technology in 2025. He is currently affiliated with the Information Course, Department of Creative Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tsuruoka College, where he works across bioresources, insect-derived materials, health science, and information technology.
